SKIPPER TRAINING FOR WOMEN 12.04.-19.04.25, from MARINA OLYMPIC, LAVRION

SKIPPERTRAINING LADIES ONLY

This skipper training is exclusively for women. It will take place in spring 2024 on young and well-equipped yachts and is intended for female skippers, those new to sailing and those interested without a sailing license. The aim is to either refresh or learn the harbor maneuvers, the maneuvers under sail and the safe steering of the yacht so that you can start your next trip in a more relaxed manner. This training is very popular, efficient and yet in a relaxed atmosphere, as it is carried out by an experienced and local sailor who would like to pass on her knowledge, experiences and tricks to you. Why training in the Aegean: 90% of all ports have no mooring and so mastering the bow anchor + stern to pier maneuver is absolutely essential. This maneuver is the ultimate discipline, especially in crosswinds, and there is no better place to practice it. The good wind conditions make it possible to reach ports further away without any problems. The attractive price-performance ratio, both nautically and culinary. Lots of space to practice in the local ports Convenient flight connections to Athens and from there the proximity to Marina Olympic Countless anchorages with sandy beaches Rustic taverns, friendly people, delicious Greek food.

THE SPECIAL SKIPPER TRAINING FROM MARINA LAVRION

Unique - Exclusive - Efficient

The main part of the training is of course the maneuvers in the harbor when docking and unmooring, the maneuvers when anchoring, the maneuvers on the buoy and when sailing, in addition to tacking and jibing, the correct trimming of the sails for optimal speed so that you can be successful as skippers. Yioupi, your trainer, is not only a successful professional skipper, but can also do even more with you this week if you wish.
Since she lives in the Aegean, she is of course very familiar with all the islands. She goes to the markets with you to buy fresh, healthy and delicious food for your stay on board.
She takes you to the most beautiful, remote anchorages with the typical, well-known, endless sandy beaches.
In the evening, after the daily skipper training, she takes you to a quaint local tavern in the picturesque harbor towns, where you can enjoy the excellent Greek cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, or if you spend the night in one of these secluded anchorages, you will cook a typical regional dish together on board – Yioupi is also a talented cook.
Afterwards, you can enjoy an Aperol or an excellent glass of wine while watching the sundowner over the Aegean. This way, you can jump into the cool water in the morning when the opportunity arises and, after a refreshing swim, prepare a delicious wellness breakfast together.

Are you still practicing or are you already chartering?

Why is this training so successful? Our skipper training courses last between 3 days and a week. All trainers are convinced that three-day training courses are often not enough to get to know the variety of meteorological and harbor-specific situations and the participants also need time to let what they have learned sink in. The skipper is a greek professional who does nothing but sailing and harbor maneuvers all year round.

HANSE 508 „MOBY DICK“ (2022)

The training starts in Marina Kaštela with harbor maneuvers. Experience shows that shorter training sessions with breaks are more effective. Not only because of the touristic variety but also because of the variety of different nautical conditions, it makes sense to sail from Kaštela to the next harbors and bays during the breaks in order to practice there again. This leads to a mintörn over the harbors and bays of the islands Solta, Drvenik, Zirje, Kaprije, Prvic, Zlarin and on the mainland Primošten and Rogoznica. The locations were chosen deliberately because all harbor maneuvers can be practiced, whether alongside or with mooring or bow anchor, as well as all anchor maneuvers and buoy maneuvers in bays. The distances between the individual locations are short but long enough for Nevenka to explain to you while sailing how a professional practises the maneuvers under sail and to answer all your questions about the ideal trim of the sails so that you can achieve maximum speed. In the evening, you can spend the night at anchor in an idyllic bay or at the pier in one of the many small harbors on the route; the skipper will make suggestions, it’s her home and she knows her way around.
