Are you still practicing or already chartering?

What makes training with us so successful? Skipper training with us takes between 3 days and a week. The instructors are convinced that it takes at least three days of training to become familiar with the diversity of specific weather and harbor situations, and the participants also need time to put the acquired knowledge into practice. The skippers are Croatian professionals who do nothing all year round but sail, maneuver in port and transfer yachts.

Training begins in the Kaštela marina with maneuvers in the harbor. Experience shows that shorter training units with breaks are more effective. Not only because of the tourist variety, but also because of the diversity of different nautical conditions, it’s interesting to sail during breaks, starting in Kaštela and moving on to the nearest harbors and bays for further training. This leads to a mini-cruise through the harbors and bays of the islands of Solta, Drvenik, Zirje, Kaprije, Prvic, Zlarin and on to the mainland of Primošten and Rogoznica. The locations have been chosen deliberately, as it is possible to practice all harbor maneuvers, whether long, with anchor or bow anchor, as well as all anchoring and buoying maneuvers in the bays. The distances between the various locations are short, but long enough for the skipper to explain to you during the navigation how a professional practices maneuvers under sail, and answer any questions about the ideal sail trim so you can reach maximum speed. In the evening, you can spend the night in an idyllic bay at anchor or at the jetty in one of the many small ports along the route. The skipper will be happy to make suggestions – it’s his country, and he knows it well.
